Position Overview:

The Construction Director is part of a team who is responsible for overseeing and managing large-scale construction projects for the expansion plan of RWS.

To ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and contractual obligations.

This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and strategic planning skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning & Strategy:

  • Develop project execution plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms.

 

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead project teams, including project managers, engineers, and site supervisors as well as project consultants.
  • Assign responsibilities and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety.

 

Budget & Financial Management:

  • Monitor project expenses and ensure cost control measures are in place.
  • Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to optimize costs.

 

Stakeholder Communication & Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for consultants and contractors of assigned scope.
  • Communicate project progress to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve project-related conflicts and issues.

 

Compliance & Safety Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and best practices on-site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Address and resolve any legal or regulatory challenges.

 

Quality Control & Project Delivery:

  • Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct regular site visits and audits to maintain project standards.
  • Ensure timely project completion while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Oversee final inspections, project handover, and closeout documentation.

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in construction management, with 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, etc).
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong financial management and contract administration expertise.
  • Problem-solving and risk management abilities.
