Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for and managing all financial accounts of one or more key business units in RWS; functions include, but not limited to :
    • Working closely with shared service account team to ensure all transactions of the business units are properly and accurately accounted for.
    • Ensuring regular review and smooth and timely closing of accounts for the business units monthly, including identifying any unusual transactions and movements of account balances.
    • Ensuring that balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and closure of open items accurately and on a timely basis for review by auditor. Minimum open items aged >60 days.
    • Liaising with external auditors on the accounts of the business units.
    • Resolving tax and GST issues, where necessary.
    • Analysing financial performance and providing financial support to business units for decision making.
  • Review and provide input to the business units for budget planning, forecast and critique budgets prepared by the business units.
  • Support and advise business units in finance-related matters including performing profit, cost efficiencies analysis and assisting to assess return on investments for proposed projects to be undertaken.
  • Constantly review and reorganize work to improve efficiency and optimise manpower resources.
  • Review business processes to improve/ strengthen internal controls and track remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, allocate resources to meet deadline and deliver results.
  • Any other ad hoc reporting or assignment as and when required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business from a reputable institution or professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA, with min 10 years of relevant managerial experience in accounting with min 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity in a large organization or in a voluminous hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing and able to be hands-on, especially during peak periods
  • Strong knowledge of SFRS.
  • Experience in delivering changes, system enhancements, business process improvements and managing a non-finance function will be an added advantage.
  • Strong initiative, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with proven ability to lead, coach, train and motivate a large team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to multi-task, work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with the operations of standard accounting systems.
